Sustainability at Galway Rafting
At Galway Rafting, we believe adventure should be accessible, sustainable, and part of city life. Our starting point is close to Galway’s main transport hubs, so guests can arrive by public transport, bike, or on foot.
Rafting with us lets you reconnect with nature in the heart of the city, making outdoor adventure easy to reach without long journeys.
Moving Beyond Neoprene
Most watersports companies rely on neoprene wetsuits, which are made from petrochemicals, pollute the environment, and wear out quickly. At Galway Rafting, wetsuits aren’t needed –guests stay mostly dry, with only shoes getting wet or the occasional splash.
We encourage the use of waterproof jackets and pants to stay comfortable while reducing our environmental impact.
Sustainable Gear Choices
Outdoor gear is often treated as disposable, used and then disposed. We believe the opposite. Our equipment is carefully maintained and designed to last, and we prioritise products that can be repaired rather than replaced.
Sustainability isn’t just about what we buy – it’s about how we care for it. Repair always beats landfill.
Our aim
We aim to make adventure accessible while keeping our environmental impact low. From how guests arrive to how we maintain our equipment, we focus on reducing our carbon footprint and protecting Galway’s waterways for generations to come.
